Mr. Karthi Baskar is a seasoned logistics and air-freight professional with more than three decades of experience across international freight forwarding, air and ocean logistics, commercial strategy, operations and customer-centric supply-chain solutions. Currently serving as President – Air Division at SAR Logistics, he is spearheading the company’s air-freight business with a strong focus on international growth, specialised logistics solutions, customer experience and technology-enabled operations. His career reflects a deep understanding of global freight markets and an ability to combine operational expertise with commercial leadership to build sustainable, long-term customer and airline partnerships.
Mr. Baskar’s professional journey includes a significant tenure with Kintetsu World Express (KWE), where he held senior leadership responsibilities and developed extensive expertise across operations, sales, business development and international logistics. He subsequently served as Managing Director & CEO of FFAF Logistics India, leading the establishment and expansion of the Canadian freight-forwarding group’s India subsidiary. Under his leadership, FFAF Logistics India established its headquarters in Bengaluru and expanded its presence across key Indian markets, reflecting his ability to build businesses, develop teams and create scalable logistics platforms.
At SAR Logistics, Mr. Baskar’s current mandate is closely aligned with the company’s ambition to strengthen India’s position in global trade and air cargo. He has articulated a solutions-led approach in which the objective is not simply to compete on freight rates, but to design compliant, technology-enabled logistics solutions tailored to industries such as healthcare, automotive, electronics, semiconductors and aerospace, with particular emphasis on safety, security and regulatory compliance.
A major recent focus under his leadership has been the development of specialised pharmaceutical air-freight capabilities. SAR has expanded its GDP-certified infrastructure from Mumbai to Hyderabad, with the new temperature-controlled facility positioned close to Hyderabad’s pharmaceutical and aviation ecosystem. This expansion reflects Mr. Baskar’s emphasis on building specialised capabilities rather than treating air freight as a commoditised service.
His leadership has also contributed to SAR’s growing international recognition, with the company receiving the Top Growth Performing Partner 2025 Global Award from Turkish Cargo at the Neutral Air Partner event in Morocco in 2026. Mr. Baskar has credited this achievement to the collective efforts of SAR’s air-freight teams, customers and airline partners.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Mr. Baskar has contributed to industry and capability development, including participation in the CII CEO Forum and initiatives involving logistics education and executive training. His leadership combines commercial acumen, operational depth and a strong belief in customer-specific solutions, positioning him as a key contributor to the evolution of India’s air-freight sector and its integration with increasingly sophisticated global supply chains.
